Frederik has a PhD in microbiology from University of Copenhagen. His work will focus on metagenomics analysis of the microbial communities associated with the roots. The main objective is to obtain knowledge on key beneficial bacteria, in order to target cultivation approaches to these bacteria. In addition, the analyses will aim to increase our understanding of cyclic lipopeptides as signaling molecules, through the investigation of biosynthetic pathways of these compounds.
