My work experience has primarily been focused on the regulation of plant genes involved in nitrogen fixation in legumes and the function of nonsymbiotic hemoglobin genes in plants in relation to NO signaling. I furthermore have been interested in the expression of human genes in plants with the aim of producing drugs to treat B12 deficiency.  I have been Head of Department at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University since 2004.
